WASHINGTON—After meeting with
Armenian Genocide Survivor Haroutioun Andonian, Rep. Adam Schiff
(D-CA) submitted his story to be included in the Congressional
Record—one of many submissions into the national record as part
of Rep. Schiff’s Armenian Genocide Congressional Record Project.
WASHINGTON—With
less than a month remaining to the Colorado primaries, each of
the four candidates in the state’s highly-competitive Senate
race have publicly staked out their stance in support of U.S.
recognition of the Armenian Genocide, reported the Armenian
National Committee of America (ANCA).

WASHINGTON–
U.S. House Armenian Genocide Resolution author Adam Schiff
(D-CA) will be hosting the Capitol Hill premiere of “AGHET: A
GENOCIDE” – a powerful documentary by German filmmaker Eric
Friedler, documenting the annihilation of 1.5 million Armenians
from 1915 to 1923 and calling attention to the current day
Turkish Government’s international campaign of Genocide denial,
reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
BAKU (Combined Sources)–”This is
the last chance for Armenia to leave the occupied lands
voluntarily for the sake of its own future and its own
security,” threatened Azeri President Ilham Aliyev Tuesday
during the inauguration of a center for the so-called “Azeri
Community of Nagorno-Karabakh,” reported the Turan news agency.

Clinton Visits Dzidzernagapert
It was, indeed, a first for a US Secretary of
State to visit Dzidzernagapert Armenian Memorial Monument. What
was, indeed, puzzling about the visit was that it was dubbed a
“private” visit by one of the most visible—public—officials in
the world.
While in Yerevan, Hillary Clinton visited
Dzidzernagapert, laid a wreath and paused for a moment of
silence in what the US Embassy officially described as “a sign
of respect for the 1.5 million Armenians who lost their lives in
1915.”
Armenian Parties Warn Azerbaijan
Against Another War
WASHINGTON– US Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) on Tuesday began
circulating a Dear Colleague letter, urging fellow House Members
to sign on as co-sponsors of H. Res. 252, the Affirmation of the
U.S. Record on the Armenian Genocide, introduced by him to
recognize, commemorate and properly characterize the murder of
1.5 million Armenian men, women and children during World War I
as genocide.
WASHINGTON (RFE/RL)–Turkey can no longer
count on the backing of the powerful Jewish lobby in the United
States in its efforts to block a congressional resolution
recognizing the Armenian genocide, according to a
Washington-based journalist.
WASHINGTON–The
Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) this week
circulated a memo to Congressional offices highlighting Turkey’s
increasingly stark double-standard in aggressively challenging
U.S. interests while continuing to dictate to American leaders
what they can – and cannot say – about the Armenian Genocide.
As Turkish Prime Minister Recep
Tayyip Erdogan continues playing the world’s champion of human
rights, four professors from Bar Ilan and Georgetown
Universities have sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin
Netanyahu seeking official Israeli recognition of the Armenian
genocide and an official call to Turkey to bring an end to its
occupation of Cyprus.
YEREVAN (ARF
Press Service)—The Armenian Revolutionary Federation concluded
its 15th Supreme Assembly of Armenia on Sunday with the election
of a new ARF Supreme Council of Armenia to govern the
pan-national political parties operations in Armenia for the
next two years.

Armenia Stands Firm Against
Turkish Role in Karabakh Talks
Armenia plans no further
fence-mending negotiations with Turkey and will continue to
oppose any Turkish involvement in the ongoing international
efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, President
Serzh Sarkisian said on Wednesday, reported RFE/RL.
Visiting the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, Sarkisian
again blamed Turkey for the effective collapse of the
Turkish-Armenian agreements to normalize bilateral ties. He
defended his decision in late April to freeze Armenian
parliamentary ratification of the two "protocols."
